St. Elizabeth School

April 24, 2008

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We are in the process of preparing for the 2008-2009 St. Elizabeth Catholic School Extended Care Program.

Students who are currently enrolled in the Extended Care Program for 2007-2008 may now re-register for next year.  Priority placement will be given until Friday, May 2nd, at which time the registration will be open on a first-come first-serve basis.

The Extended Care Program will run the same as it did this year.  Students will meet in the All Purpose Room for check-in (3:30-3:50), then will be taken into the gymnasium or onto the athletic field for recreation time (3:55-4:30), followed by snack time (4:30-4:55). The students with homework will meet in the homework room, room 104, Monday through Thursday. Students without homework will meet in room 103 where they can read, play games, or draw.   Should students finish their written assignments, they are expected to study for upcoming quizzes or tests.  We believe students must continue to have a fundamental value of reading, preparation, and study reinforced during the Extended Care Program.  After the mandatory quiet study times, students in each group who are finished with homework may report to room 103 for general recreation.  Friday is a “fun day” when a G-rated movie is shown for the enjoyment of the children.

The registration form for the 2008-2009 academic year has been posted on the website for your convenience. Once we receive your completed registration form, along with the non-refundable $50.00 per child deposit to hold your spot, the necessary paperwork to complete registration will be sent to you via the mail.

Morning care will be from 7:00am-8:10 am and afternoon care will be from dismissal until 6:00pm on regular school days and from 12:30-4:30pm on scheduled half-days.  In case of a weather emergency, aftercare will be offered for two hours following the report of an early closing.  There will be no morning care on days with a morning delay.

Pre-billing will occur on a monthly basis for the number of days in the month. The rate for five-day morning care will be $30.00 per week and the rate for the three-day program is $18.00.  The rate for the five-day aftercare program is $80.00 per week and the rate for the three-day program is $48.00 per week.  There is no multiple-child discount for the Extended Care Program.

We look forward to seeing you back next year.

Yours in Christ,
