Hi Parents,

 It is that time of the year again – time to sign up for St. Elizabeth recess!

The St. Elizabeth recess calendar is set up in VolunteerSpot and there are plenty of slots available. Please make sure to sign up for your preferred dates now.

 Please find attached the instructions on how to register for and sign into VolunteerSpot.

 We are currently recruiting for substitutes for recess duty. If you are available and interested in being a substitute volunteer please email Liz Mills with your contact information and we will gladly add you to the list.

 Just a few reminders….

 You must complete the Virtus Training and have your fingerprint results on file with the school prior to your first recess date.

Upon arrival to the school, please sign in with the school receptionist at the front desk who will then give you a name tag.  Please remember to record your hours in the volunteer log book in order to receive credit for your recess volunteer hours.

 Please make sure to appear for all scheduled recess dates. Please remember that once you have signed up for a date, do not delete yourself from the calendar. If you are unable to fulfill your scheduled date you are responsible for finding a replacement.  A list of substitutes are available on the recess section of the website. If you would like to become a recess substitute, please let us know.

 While on recess duty, please remember to keep your attention on the children. There have been instances of parents congregating in groups, talking on their cell phones, etc. While on the playground please make sure to spread out and give your full attention to the children.

 Walk-ins are not permitted for recess duty. All volunteers must be scheduled on the calendar.

 If school is cancelled due to a snow day, power outage, etc. on your scheduled recess day, you automatically receive credit for the recess hours you would have worked.

 Please note that there is no transferring of recess hours to other families after the fact. If you work recess hours for another family, you must log the time on that families’ log book page in the volunteer hours book in order for them to get credit.

 This year the last day to records volunteer hours is May 24, 2012. Any recess hours worked after this date will be credited to the 2012-2013 school year.
